OUR STORY

Hillbilly Jam is more than a weekend on the calendar. It is a celebration of the people, stories, music, traditions, and mountain spirit that make Appalachia feel like home. What began as a gathering in Maggie Valley has grown into a place where folks from across the country can come together to experience something real. You will find live music, good food, mountain personalities, makers, vendors, storytellers, and families all sharing the same grounds and the same love for Appalachian culture. At the center of Hillbilly Jam is a simple idea: keep the spirit of the mountains alive and make everyone feel welcome while doing it. We honor the traditions that came before us, but we also make room for new memories, new friendships, and a new generation to experience what makes this part of America so special. Our community includes musicians, craftsmen, vendors, sponsors, fans, families, and longtime friends of the Jam. Each one adds something different, and together they create the energy that has made Hillbilly Jam a tradition people look forward to year after year. Come for the music. Come for the people. Come for the mountain culture. Stay because it feels like home.
